Things to remember

I'll be on vacation next week (yeah!) but our wonderful staff will be here to make your visit even more wonderful. We have a few special events coming up you'll want to remember...

FREE KIDS ON HALLOWEEN - Children ages 3 to 12 that come to Dinsoaur World in costume on Halloween day will receive FREE admission (and some candy) during regular business hours. For safety purposes, the children must be accompanied by an adult. We ask that you limit the children to four per adults.

GRANPARENT'S SUNDAYS - The first two Sundays in November are grandparent's Sundays. Children accompanied by their grandparents will receive FREE admission on these two days. (November 1st and November 8th). We ask that you limit the children to four per couple.

Congrats to our winners

Congratulations to Mary Willsey of Tampa, Heather Cannarella of Valrico and Diane Smallze of Holiday. These ladies each won four passes to the opening performance of "Walking With Dinosaurs". Thank you to all who participated.

Trilobites

Aren't these trilobites cool? Trilobites are extinct, hard-shelled marine animals that lived in the seas even before the dinosaurs. Trilobites were very common and very diverse; over 15,000 species of trilobites are known. Some trilobites crawled along the sea floor, some swam, and others drifted with ocean currents. The different trilobite species probably had different diets; some were herbivores (eating plants), some were detrivores (eating decayed material) and some were scavengers (eating carrion). We have these trilobites on sale in our giftshop and in display in our prehistoric museum.

Outreach Programs

If you can't bring your class on a field trip to Dinosaur World, let us bring our dinosaurs to you! Our Kentucky location offers outreach programs that fit into Kentucky's core content curriculum. "Dinosaurs: Time, Teeth, Types" brings authentic fossils and lots of fun into the classroom. The program can fit kindergarten thru 6th grade. Smaller groups are better, we can do up to 50. Prices start at $200. Call 270-773-4345 for more information.

It's fall break time for many and it's great to see so many of you all here. If you're not here yet, our dinosaurs are waiting for you! We're open year around, but it's great to get out and enjoy when you have those little breaks!

Register to win a family four pack of tickets to see "Walking with Dinosaurs - The Arena Spectacular" at the St. Pete Times Forum in Tampa. I did some Christmas shopping for my 4 year old today. Christmas is only 3 months away. UGH! We can help you out. Do your Christmas shopping at Dinosaur World. Our Kentucky and Texas locations have breath-taking giftshops of over 5,000 square feet. Our Florida giftshop is very cool too. You can find everything from 50 cent toys to $7,000 fossils.
