Cold in Texas
Snow in Texas ? You betcha! The below picture was taken Tuesday (Feb 22) in our Glen rose, Texas location. This picture is as you exit the parking lot. But guess what? We're open! We're open every day of the year (except Christmas Day and Thanksgiving Day). So, if you're into extreme dinosaur viewing, come on in! At least this will make us ready for spring break when it finally gets here!
If you're wondering about the giraffes, we have a partnership with Fossil Rim (http://www.fossilrim.org/) where we promote each other. So, when you feel like braving the weather, take a trip to Glen Rose and enjoy all the sites! (http://www.glenrosetexas.net/)

Trilobites
Here's some cool facts about trilobites. We have some very, very cool trilobites in our museum and even in our giftshop to shell.
They were among the most numerous and varied marine animals of their time, ranging in length from about a quarter of an inch to over three feet. Like other arthropods, they could grow only by casting off their old shells. The best known example of an arthropod outgrowing its shell today is the soft-shell crab. So, many trilobite fossils are actually the cast off shells and not the animal itself. The name trilobite refers to the three (tri-) sections of the body, the easiest way to identify a trilobite fossil. Trilobites also are known for their extremely well developed eyes.
