Ride a prehistoric mammoth (kinda)

Come on spring breakers! You don't have to go far to create memories with your family! Where else can you ride a wooly mammoth? Pictured below are guests enjoying our Mammoth Gardens (an exhibit in the Kentucky location). At this exhibit you can interact with one of our replica baby mammoths and learn more about the rest of the herd too.

Eggs and fossils

Did you know that in addition to our over 150 life size dinosaurs, we have hundreds of very cool fossils too? These fossils can be found in our Prehistoric Museum and also in our giftshop. One of my favorites is our Hadrosaur eggs. Below is information Hadrosaurs.

A living Hadrosaurus could tower over a human being. Nearly as tall as a two-story building, the animal might weigh up to four tons. The hadrosaurs are called "duckbills" because of their strange, toothless bills, with which they chopped and ground their food. They were herbivores (plant-eaters), and it is believed they were good swimmers.

Duckbills lived and traveled in herds, and laid eggs (such as the ones we have on exhibit) in communal nesting areas, the most famous of which are those of Maiasaura, which formed huge nesting colonies, like those of modern penguins. Some paleontologists believe they protected the eggs until hatched and continued to nurture the young afterwards.

It's supposed to be a sunny weekend! And, spring breaks will be starting soon. We're ready to see you! You don't have to go far for a good time, we're approx. one hour from Louisville, Nashville, Orlando, Fort Worth, Dallas and about 20 minutes from Tampa. One of our locations is close to you!

Got milk? Got Dinosaurs? We got both!

Got milk? Got dinosaurs? We got ‘em both at Dinosaur World on Friday, March 12th. Dinosaur World is a stop on the 2010 “Got Milk” Tour. This tour offers guests a chance to have some nutritional fun such as a dinner fun zone, mustache blending area, sampling area, milk table showcase and more. Of course, the popular milk mustache photo area will be on hand. Health professionals and dieticians will be on hand to answer questions.

The got milk area will be set up in the Dinosaur World parking area from 11:00 to 1:00 and then from 2:00 to 4:00 on March 12th. Take part in the “milk the moment” tour and then take a moment to get some dinosaurs!

Thank you for all the canned good donations during the month of February. We did a great job. Our Florida location had over 800 pounds of canned goods donated to the United Foodbank! Kentucky donations went to Pathfinders and Texas donations went to the Glen Rose Methodist Church Foodbank. Thanks everyone for helping!
