Birthdays

Since today is my son's birthday, I have parties on the brain. So, I decided to talk about birthday parties at Dinosaur World. What could be more fun than having your birthday with over 150 life size dinosaurs? Party rates are $6 per person for groups of 12 or more with advance reservations. This includes a fossil dig for each child where they can take home authentic fossils they find. And we do sell plenty of dinosaur party supplies.

Dinosaur Playground

Okay moms, we are all in the need for a good playground from time to time. Bring the kids to Dinosaur World and enjoy our playground and picnic area. Sliding, swinging, climbing and even riding dinosaurs! If you live close to one of our 3 locations (Plant City, Florida - Cave City, Kentucky - Glen Rose, Texas) then consider year membership and come play every day year around.

Trees that knew dinosaurs

At our Kentucky location you can meet the ancient tree that knew the dinosaurs.

The Dawn Redwood is one of the only trees with the strength and growing power to be around when the dinosaurs roamed and still flourish today. This tree can grow up to 100 feet including six feet in just one year.

In early June of 2009, we planted ten Dawn Redwood trees. While you're visiting Kentucky, see if you can spot all ten.

Allosaurus Information

Poor Allosaurus! This perfectly respectable carnosaur is always overshadowed by T. rex. Even the meaning of its name, "other (or different) lizard," suggests that it is a rather second-rate dinosaur. In fact, the name refers to the distinct shape of the bones of its spine.

One of the largest North American meat-eaters, Allosaurus walked on its hind legs with its tail stretched out behind for balance. The powerful muscles and heavy bones of its legs made it possible for Allosaurus to move very fast. On each of its short arms, it had hands with three fingers, each with a sharp claw. Remains of Allosaurus have been found in North America and Australia, and some fossils from Africa and Asia may be those of Allosaurus. It is one of the most wide-spread of the meat-eaters.

Dinosaur Walk

Here's a great panoramic still shot of our dinosaur walk in Kentucky. Notice how we have dinosaur families instead of just one dinosaur ploped down in the woods. It is really a unique journey.
