Providing shad in the sun

I know its very hot out there, but I have some good news! Our dinosaur walk is in the woods! It's very shady, I promise. Each of our locations has about a mile of paved paths full of dinosaurs in the native vegitation. Now, it will still be hot, but we can provide some relief for you with our great trees. Check out the below picture for proof.

QR Code

This weird picture is called a quick response code or QRC. If you have an i-phone and take a picture of this QRC, it will take you to our home web page. You can then navigate our website on your i-phone. You must first have the QRC reader from the i-phone app store. Here's the app link = (http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/development_tools/qrcreader.html) . After you have the reader, you can do this on any QR code you see popping up.

Why are there no more Woolly Mammoths?

As warmer, wetter weather was beginning to take hold, rising sea levels swamped the coastal regions. Forests replaced open woodlands and grasslands. The Ice Age was ebbing. As habitats disappeared, so did mammoths.

Whether the general mammoth population died out for climatic reasons or due to overhunting by humans is controversial. A combination of climate change and hunting by humans is the most likely explanation for their extinction.

Take heart! You can still see Mammoths at Dinosaur World in Kentucky!

Trees that knew dinosaurs

At our Kentucky location you can meet the ancient tree that knew the dinosaurs.

The Dawn Redwood is one of the only trees with the strength and growing power to be around when the dinosaurs roamed and still flourish today. This tree can grow up to 100 feet including six feet in just one year.

In early June of 2009, we planted ten Dawn Redwood trees. While you're visiting Kentucky, see if you can spot all ten.
